Hencote Winery, Restaurant and Glamping
Following a landscape masterplan and detailed design by Lingard Farrow Styles, Hencote Winery and restaurant has opened just outside Shrewsbury. We produced a phased landscape scheme including bespoke signage, entrance areas, raised planters, paving, car parking, amphitheatre, and glamping site. We also produced a comprehensive prairie planting scheme
Leisure Site, Chirk Bank in World Heritage Site buffer zone
We provided a landscape and visual appraisal (LVIA) for a new caravan park with associated facilities including a swimming pool building. The site is located within the buffer zone of the sensitive Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site so the assessment also reviewed the setting of the WHS and guidance by Historic England. As part of the assessment process we development a landscape mitigation plan to reduce potential landscape and visual effects.
Chadwell Springs Golf Club, Hertfordshire
A destination restaurant and pub with golf shop, driving range and 18-hole golf course.
Lingard Styles provided a range of services including, tree survey and assessment, Phase 1 habitat ecology survey, and design of hard landscape and planting plans for the landscape around the clubhouse.
The site was a particularly challenging one being located on chalk tunnels home to a colony of bats and with a substantial inert landfill operation influencing the site design.
The landscape design features extensive use of modern eco-friendly materials, instant hedging, biodiversity enhancements and a SuDS scheme. The planting scheme is designed to create a unique outdoor dining space against a backdrop of cascading planting.
Coed y Dinas Garden Centre, Welshpool, Powys
Lingard Styles were commissioned by Charlies Stores Ltd to provide a landscape design for a major new garden centre in refurbished Grade 1 listed buildings, formerly the home farm of Powis Castle. The landscape design and materials respond to the site's heritage and the design was conceived to create areas that appear intimate but are able to accommodate large footfall. The planting design was also seen as an opportunity to give inspiration to shoppers as well as making it an inviting place in which to spend time.
Supermarket and retail park, Shropshire
Lingard Farrow Styles have helped secure planning permission for a retail park and supermarket on a brownfield site in north Shropshire. We provided a bespoke landscape design including planting for year-round colour that will also benefit pollinating insects.
